BNSW Kaikohe 1929

Bank of New South Wales, Kaikohe, 1929
BFA Collection.
Architects: Crichton & McKay and Haughton.

This bank was similar to the Taumauunui bank that had been designed the year before but was modified to suit the corner site. The collection includes four hand coloured diazo prints signed as part of the contract, six linen tracings, and two blue prints of structural drawings. It is possible that when the presentation qualities of diazo were not needed the older blue prints were still preferred for their superior durability.

The drawing is dated 1929 and the contract 10th January 1930. The building still exists (2011) but is now a bar.
